Dell has produced an engineering marvel, a notebook that’s less than a centimeter thick. The Dell Adamo XPS looks unbelievable at first sight, with no visible mechanism to open it; it seems like its alien technology. The innovative capacitive-magnetic lock isn’t the only thing that makes this device so enchanting, it’s about half as thick as the Macbook Air, and still manages to pack in two USBs and a video-out port. It’s powered by the Intel Core2Duo ULV processor and comes loaded with 4GB of RAM and an integrated Graphics solution (on demand). The 13.4 inch screen is paper thin and is connected to the keyboard and multitouch track pad by a very unique hinge that, when in an open position, makes it look like a panel PC. The keyboard is a delight to type on, with brushed metal keys that provide just the right amount of tactile feedback. The multi-touch track pad is quite responsive, but could’ve been just a little bit larger for better gesture control. A single look at this device will give you an insight into the future of mobile computing.
