HTC Touch HD now available at Croma


HTCs much anticipated 5 Megapixel Touch HD is now available at select Croma Stores. The HTC Touch HD boasts a gigantic 3.8 inch touchscreen that packs 800x480 pixels and as mentioned earlier, features a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus.

In terms of specs, The Touch HD is the ultimate in Windows Mobile devices, with a WVGA display, 288 MB RAM, graphics processor with 64MB dedicated RAM and a 3.5mm audio jack, which has been missing from the Touch range.

The screen takes you to a new level of Windows Mobile responsiveness, as its sheer size renders images big enough to be finger friendly. Touchflo may not be 100% seamless, but manages to steer clear of most Windows interfaces, making the interface a little more stylus free.

The only downer is the price which is just under Rs.43000, though it is offset by its features and its 'digital tablet' feel.

Differentiating Features
  • 3.8 inch touchscreen with 800x480 resolution, though the resolution is the same as the Sony Xperia X1, the larger size makes smaller text/images look bigger
  • 5 Megapixel autofocus camera with touch-focus, which lets you focus on any subject in the frame simply by touching it.
  • Discrete Graphics chip with 64MB dedicated RAM
  • Compact size with maximum utilization of front panel, the device is as physically as big as the iPhone 3G, but the HD's display is larger as compared to the iPhone's 3.5 inch screen.
  • 3.5mm jack, which is a new hardware spec in HTC's Windows Mobile devices, this helps a lot if you want to use your own earphones (esp. noise cancelling earphones, which offer good quality sound output).
